Falconry
Date: Saturday and Sunday 15h and 16th March
Time: 10:30am to 1pm
Venue: Kirkleatham Owl Centre
We joined the dedicate team at Kirkleatham Owl Centre for 2 half day falconry experience sessions.
The groups learned about the history of falconry, the techniques and equipment used in falconry - before getting up close and meeting a host of birds of prey - from hawks to falcons, vultures to owls.
Sadly the second group did not get to fly the birds as one had flown off after the first session and the other enjoyed the warm spring sun so much it decided to take a bath. Wet birds of prey walk !!
Happily the huge owl (a bit of a fib) Goliath and friends made the session entertaining all the same.
