Willow Weaving & basket making
Date: Sunday 2nd March Time: 10am to 4pm
Venue: Newham Grange Leisure Farm.
From the start Derek Mosey warned us that weaving a basket for the first time was hardwork.
Under his kind guidance all of the group completed the difficult task of creating the basket base.
Once the spiral weave of the base was complete the rods that became the side verticals could be inserted.
You will see from the associated photographs that the group had to spread out.
I have never seen so many concentrating faces. We brought tea coffee biscuits and cakes to try and keep everyone going.
Derek was kind to offer to finish any incomplete items… There should be some wonderful work on display at the July 20th Medieval Festival
