A certificate was presented to the children and a £10 W.H.Smith voucher was given by the Friends' group to the top named child in each school.
This photo shows the 3 children from Rose Wood School with their certificates.
Martin also arranged an Art Competition between these four schools. He found it very difficult to choose one class over the others because the standards were so very high. However, for their extra effort in observing their wildflowers closely, the trophy went to Lingfield School.
This was presented by Councillor John Hobson, alongside Councillor Chris Hobson, who are both founder members of the Friends of Fairy Dell and instigated the trophy three years ago

We wanted the children to be proud of their achievements, so Martin arranged for display boards of their work to be shown at both the 'Fairy Dell Festival' on the 1st August 2009, and, as shown below, in the local shopping precinct on 21st August in the 'Parkway Centre', Coulby Newham
On the 30th August the same display was shown at the monthly 'Farmers' Market' in the Nature's World complex
The aim was to give maximum publicity to the educational and artistic work being achieved, not only for the 'Awards for All' grant, but also for Fairy Dell and Nature's World activities.
This photograph was taken at the 'Fairy Dell Festival'. It shows one of the children taught by Martin Allen.
