Judges Comments:

Fairy Dell is a conservation oasis within the urban landscape of Middlesbrough. It is lovingly cared for by an enthusiastic and dedicated group of volunteers. It has an attractive website and also hosts a range of social activities for the local community. A lot of work goes into making it accessible for the public to enjoy. It manages to not only incorporate natural history, but also local heritage and water management into its setting. We look forward to the continued establishment of native floral species in to the site to enhance its overall horticultural impact.
