Fairy Dell beck Event

Sunday, July 2nd 2017

11am to 3pm

We plan to explore Marton West Beck in a fun way for children, while providing a community event for all ages and abilities. It is also a chance for us to work with other environmental groups to widen the public knowledge of the natural surroundings of Fairy Dell.

For guest, especially children, to take samples from the beck and be taught how to recognise the creatures they find in the water. The shallow section of the beck, just below the ‘water splash’, is the site to be used during the event. They will then go to the marquee and be shown how to identify their finds. The activity for children will be to make a diagram of their ‘finds’ which they will then make a permanent transfer on to either a tee shirt or a tote bag.

Electro-fishing will take place from the bridge next to the ‘retaining pool’ from the lake.
